A lot has changed in my life over the past three months. I became a Mom, I started running again, and now I am training for my very first Boston Marathon.

There’s a lot of different factors that go into training for a marathon and taking care of a new baby. A lot of them go hand in hand. I haven’t been able to do things exactly the same as I used to, and I can no longer cut corners when it comes to training and my health.

Strength work has become a bit part of my routine and without it there is no way that I would be able to get to the start line on April 17th healthy. Another factor that plays into my training is my overall health. Sickness isn’t something that will just affect my training anymore, it can also greatly affect my sweet boy.

I knew giving birth in the middle of winter meant that I had to be ready to battle off any sickness that may come my way. As the parent who is around Easton most often I don’t want to pass anything along. I started doing some research and heard about Genexa. As you know, Mom’s can become professional researchers online and their certified organic, non-GMO verified medicines for adults and children really intrigued me. It’s still too early for medications for Easton, but I always want to plan for the future.

Here are just a few things that really stood out to me about Genexa:

  • It’s the worlds first and ONLY certified organic and non-GMO Project Verified Homeopathic over-the-counter medicines.
  • Regulated by the FDA as over-the-counter medications.
  • They have 11 medicines overall: 8 for adults and 3 for children
  • Genexa is a certified B-Corporation, dedicated to using business as a force for good.

Sounds good right? We often hear the word “organic” but do many of us really know what that means? I decided to dig a little deeper and look at what exactly that means for Genexa:

  • No GMO’s, antibiotics, or growth hormones.
  • Audit trail from farm to table – from harvest to bottling, they ensure the integrity in every step of the process
  • No toxic persistent pesticides – none of the ingredients are ever grown with pesticides.

One of my favorites is the Allergy-D Organic Allergy and Decongestant. The weather here has turned unseasonably warm lately and it’s caused allergies to come out earlier than expected. As someone who is focused on training and keeping herself healthy both for my baby and for Boston this is perfect. I keep it on hand at home when I start to feel the beginnings of congestion and sneezing.

Being a Mom and a runner doesn’t leave you much time to be sick or to be brought down by pesky allergies. That’s why I love that I have a healthy, organic option to use when I feel my symptoms arise.

Some other medicines they carry of interest to runners is the Arnica Advantage which is a great natural way to help minimize aches and pains. For children they carry a Allergy-D, Calm Keeper, and Cold Crush.

It’s truly amazing what having a child will make you start becoming aware of. I want what’s best for my body so that I know my sweet boy is getting the best he can. Becoming a mother certainly changes your life, your views, and your feelings in so many ways.
