Today’s Run – Easy Run

Total Mileage: 10.10 miles

Total Time: 1:30:21

Average Pace: 8:57 min/mile pace

Today is absolutely beautiful here, and this morning’s run reminded me just why I love to run so much.

I don’t know about you, but my husband and I had a really lazy Saturday night.  We spent most of the night just like this relaxing and watching college football.

This morning I woke up and my legs felt oddly ready to go. The weather was overcast and windy when I woke up so I decided to bring out the arm sleeves for today’s run.

They haven’t been pulled out since last fall. I love fall it is my favorite time to run, but it goes so quickly up here. We usually have about a month of fall before the snow starts.

I did a total of 10 miles outside on my favorite course. It was beautiful and the sun came out about halfway through. Perfect temperature and I felt like I could have gone forever, but I made myself cut it at 10. The goal for this run was to take it easy and slow and somehow I ended up with an 8:57 average pace!? My legs felt great and I honestly didn’t feel like I was working much at all during the run, which is how it should be. I will just cough this up to being a great day!

How can you not go outside and run on a day like that!?

This weeks joys/successes:

1. Great overall running week.  After a rough week last week, I was so happy to have my runs go a lot better! I focused on making sure my body was properly recovered after each run and it really helped prepare myself for the next day.

2. Kept on top of my schedule.  My parents were in town all week and I have been really stressing about making sure I would get my workouts done. I got up early when I needed to and made sure to always find time to hit my important workouts. Overall 77 miles is a great number for the week and I am really proud of myself for staying on top of it!

This weeks struggles:

1. My diet.  I haven’t talked much about diet on here, but I have been struggling with mine lately. I have been crazy bloated and just not feeling my best. I am really going to aim to focus this week on revamping my diet and tracking what I eat to see what is causing the problems.

2. Water intake. I have slacked a bit in this area, probably because this week has been all over the place with family in town. I need to focus on upping my water intake and backing away from the diet soda. It truly is my weakness!

Okay now on to what some of you have been waiting for.
