Today’s Workout – Tempo Run
Total Mileage: 11.25 miles
Total Time: 1:37:30
Average Pace: 8:39 min/mile
I will be back with a full detail of today’s workout. It was tough but the actual workout was a 6 mile tempo run.
My first day of being gym-less and it went alright! Maybe i’ll be able to get used to this after all. My treadmill is going to have to be my new BFF for the time being.
Thanks for your patience with me while my family was in town! It was nice to take a break and spend some time with them! I only get to see them about 3-4 times a year, so every moment is precious!
My brother and his wife leave to head back to NC today, so it will calm down a bit around here.
I know it is a day late but I wanted to post my weekly training recap for last week.

This weeks joys/successes:
1. I got my mileage under control. My mileage has been all over the place the past couple weeks, so finally I think I got my body to a “happy” mileage. I am starting to slowly find what works for me by staying between 65-75 miles per week. That is a big range, but that gives me some room to adjust as my body needs it.
2. I stuck to my schedule. I had a busy week with a lot going on and family coming into town, so I was a bit worried about sticking to my schedule. Thankfully I got up early when I needed to and make sure to get all of my runs in!
This weeks struggles:
1. Hip. I swear one day I will finally not have to put this under the struggles section! I have to say it is still not as bad as it has been, but the pesky thing won’t seem to go away. I keep giving it a lot of TLC and hoping that one day I will be able to run without any pain at all!
2. Tough week. This week was a really tough running week for some reason. I was tired a lot, my runs were hard to talk myself into at time, and I just wasn’t feeling it a lot. I think it is important for us to accept these weeks and move on sometimes. Hoping this coming week has better days in store!
What workouts do you have on the schedule for this week?
In other news:
I am currently being featured on Dorothy from Mile Posts blog. I love her and her blog and she constantly motivates me to become faster! Go over and check it out! I am so honored!
I was excited to see you yesterday on Dorothy’s blog – I think I might have found your blog from a comment there (who knows, right?).
Glad you got some good time with your family – you said your parents are there for the week, right? Hope you get time to enjoy them as well! My family is everywhere – we’re in Corning, parents in SC, brother in NJ, sister in MA (where I’m from), sister-in-law in TX …
And just have to say, I was on a treadmill this week for a cardiac stress test … still hate them! 😀
I found you from Dorothy’s blog! I can’t wait to follow your journey! Way to go on a great week.
Thank you 🙂 and welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by!
Great week of workouts! Finding that “happy mileage” can be challenging. Additionally, what feels great one week is a struggle the next. As you said, that is just a part of running, and something that must be accepted. My workout this week started off with a local Labor Day Half Marathon. I PR’d with a 1:38, and it felt great. Not sure what the rest of the week looks like yet 🙂
Great job on the PR!! That is awesome! Just listen to your body – sometimes you need to rest it after going hard at a race. That is what I didn’t do 2 weeks ago and ended up really messing up my hip!
You’re amazing!! Even with a tough mental week you hit 73 miles?!? Awesome! Love the feature on Mile Posts too!
Thank you!! 🙂 You are sweet! I am trying – it was a tough week but hoping for a better one this week!
