These weeks are just clicking by. Thankfully, this was a productive week even though a few wrenches were thrown in our way at the house.  Every time I make a little progress towards getting ready for our little man I feel so much better!  Little steps will get us there and that is what I keep reminding myself day in and day out when I feel overwhelmed.

Here is a look at week 26!

Baby in Week 26

26 Weeks: Our little boy is the size of an eggplant. He is roughly 9.2 inches and around 2 lbs!

I think we had a growth spirt between Wednesday and Thursday night because I woke up feeling much larger than usual and I could feel the weight on my run!

Sorry for the yellow looking picture we didn’t get back until later Saturday to get a picture.

Weight Gained: I haven’t weighed myself at home in the past 3 weeks, but I am going back in on Wednesday for my next appointment and should have more of an update then! I have a feeling it’s going to be a bigger jump, which I won’t lie makes me a little anxious but it is what it is.

Symptoms: I feel like I should just leave the same response in from week to week: exhaustion. I’m still battling it pretty bad. I am starting to learn how to work with it a bit more and know when to expect it, but it still makes some days (and running) a bit more difficult.

Food Aversions: None! I still will pretty much eat anything and everything. Ha!

Food Cravings:  I don’t think I’m really having any specific cravings. I am hungry much more than I used to be and still focus on eating every 2-3 hours as a general rule. I do better when I’m at work because my day is very structured, but during the weekends sometimes I have to make more of an effort to make sure I’m eating every 2-3 hours.

Sleep: I really wish I could just skip this one. If you had asked me earlier in the week I would say I was sleeping much better BUT as the week progressed it definitely has gotten harder. I just can’t get comfortable no matter how I lay. I wake up several times a night for bathroom breaks and the end up tossing and turning for a while before I can go back to sleep.

Baby Items Purchased: We have made some pretty great progress on this front! We now have a stroller (more to come on that in the future), car seat, and a few other miscellaneous things. We are finishing up our registry this weekend as well. There is a still a lot to do but slow progress is being made!

Exciting Things Happening This Week:  We have a busy weekend ahead. As I mentioned above we are finishing our registry and painting our nursery this weekend! Thanks to my wonderful parents who offered to come and help us Monday. It is a BIG task that I will be happy to check off our list.

Looking forward To:  I always look forward to my appointments just for peace of mind and to check up on how this little man is doing.   This time however; I am not looking forward to taking my glucose test. I’m also looking forward to making progress on projects this weekend and hopefully starting to get the nursery put together!

Running in Week 26

Running was OK this week. I had one pretty great day, but most of them were mediocre. I am highly consider investing in a support band for running, so if any of you have any experience please let me know what you used! I’m still trucking along and just trying to go with the flow. I have a feeling at this point each week is going to be a little tougher so I’m trying not to put any pressure on myself to get a certain number of miles in.

Here is a breakdown of my running this week:

Screen Shot 2016-09-03 at 8.44.46 PM

Monday – 6.2 miles on treadmill

Tuesday – 4.12 miles outside

Wednesday – 6.2 miles on the treadmill

Thursday – 4.13 miles outside

Friday – Off

Saturday – 11.10 miles outside

Sunday – 6 miles

You’ll notice that aside from my long run day, the mileage is almost identical to last week. I’m trying to sustain this as I can but I’m sure shortly it may get cut down again. My body has a mind of its own these days so we just wait and see.

The best day was definietly Saturday, and I wasn’t expecting it at all going in. Due to the hurricane, we had prepared to be on the treadmill but the weather ended up being absolutely wonderful with just a little wind on Saturday morning. I started without any kind of distance in mind. My body surprisingly felt good most of the time so I kept going.

I completed 11.10 miles and knew that was the best time to cut it. It was starting to get uncomfortable at the end but overall felt good. I really didn’t expect to get another double digit run in during this pregnancy, but I’ll take it! Who knows what the weeks ahead have in store.

How did your running go this week?
