Say lots of positive thoughts for me. I’m crossing my fingers, toes, and praying that this sickness is gone by long run time on Saturday. I’ve had some better runs at the end of this week, but the cold air is making it really hard on my lungs.

I’m trying to keep lots of positive thoughts going. I am going to be completely well by this weekend!

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’m stealing this fun quiz from Hungry Runner Girl.

1. Who is your Valentine this year?

I’ve had the same Valentine for the last 11 years and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

2. Have any Valentine’s traditions?

We usually have a pretty low key Valentine’s Day. It’s always been something we celebrate but nothing we go all out for. We always go out to dinner, for the first 4-5 years we were together we went to P.F. Changs but now that we don’t have one close we usually just pick somewhere different that we don’t normally eat it.

3. Favorite chick flick love story? Book or movie?

I am going to go with The Notebook. It was the first Nicholas Sparks book I read and saw the movie and I loved it. Sadly, a lot of his movies since then have really disappointed me. The books were all great though!

4. Do you have any favorite Valentine’s Day recipes?

I always bake for Valentine’s Day, but it is never the same thing. Thanks got Pinterest I am always coming up with new and festive things to try! I’ll let you know what makes the cut this year.

5. Flowers or candy?

This is a tough one. I love flowers, they are so beautiful, but the just don’t last very long. I’d probably have to go with candy, specifically chocolate marshmallow hearts. Those are definitely the way to my heart.

6. Are you/have you run a race on Valentine’s Day?

I have to say, I never have! Though it sounds like a wonderful activity one year or us to do together!

7. Any memories from elementary school making and passing out Valentines?

I got way too excited for Valentine’s Day in elementary school. I spent a lot of time on my valentines and even though no one else was probably as excited as me, it felt like a big deal! HA!

8. Favorite cheesy/love song?

I am going to have to go with our wedding song, “Making Memories of Us” Keith Urban.

A few others: “Yours” Russell Dickerson, “I Won’t Give Up on Us” Jason Mraz, and “The Woman I Love” Jason Mraz (this was my brother’s wedding song).

9. Anyone proposed to or married on Valentine’s Day?

Nope not here, but I was proposed to after the Boston Marathon which to me is kind of as exciting as Valentine’s Day!

10. What is your favorite kind of date?

My husband and I are both very low key people. We love going out, seeing family and friends, but we also love just staying in and being together. Our ideal date is going out to dinner, a quick dessert, and then snuggling up and watching a movie together. It’s not fancy but it’s perfect for us.

11. Favorite quote about love or your definition for what love is?

“There is a desire within each of us, in the deep center of ourselves that we call our heart. We were born with it, it is never completely satisfied, and it never dies. We are often unaware of it, but it is always awake. It is the human desire for love. Every person in this earth yearns to love, to be loved, to know love. Our true identity, our reason for being, is to be found in this desire…

Love I the ‘why’ of life: why we are functioning at all, what we want to be efficient for…I am convinced it (love) is the fundamental energy of the human spirit, the fuel on which we run, the wellspring of our vitality.  And grace, which is the flowing, creative activity of love itself, is what makes all goodness possible.

Love should come first; it should be the beginning of and the reason for everything.”

Decided to lighten things up a bit for today! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, Valentine’s Day, and get to spend it with those you love!
