Happy Friday!

Don’t you just love the sound of that? This week has been a long one, so I am so excited the weekend is almost here.

In honor of Friday, let’s talk some random Friday things shall we?

We get an ENTIRE weekend.

This is the first weekend in quite some time that we’ve had the whole weekend to do whatever we want. Aside from Boston, Wes has had to be on call at the hospital on Friday nights the past several weeks so that has thrown a wrench into things.

I know we are both looking forward to catching up on sleep and relaxing. We also have a fun night planned on Saturday with my family.

Holy RECOVERY

I don’t know what it is but my legs have had a heck of a time trying to recover this week. My easy days have turned into more recovery runs. I just try to get my legs moving as slow or as fast (mostly slow) as they want to go to try to break up some of the lactic acid.

At night, and time permitting after my run, I’ve been really trying to foam roll and stretch them well. I’ve also been really focusing on proper post-run meals and hydration.

Friday Things1

I’m thinking my legs just have to get used to the workouts again after my schedule was switched up some last week for Boston.

Chicago

My father-in-law officially got into the Chicago Marathon via the lottery on Tuesday. That means our hotel reservations have been made and it is official!

Chicago2

This year we are staying about 0.5 miles from the finish line. This will be really nice after the race! We’ve never been that close before.

I am ready to get my marathon training started!

Vacation is COMING!

It has been a couple years since my husband and I have been able to take a vacation together just the two of us. We’ve been planning and are officially 2 weeks from heading to the beach for a little over a week!

Boat Afternoon

We will be spending a majority of the week (Saturday-Friday) in South Carolina and then heading to my in-laws beach house in North Carolina for the holiday weekend.

I cannot even begin to express how excited we are! It is much needed!

New Shoes

New shoes make me happy. New running shoe make me even happier!

Wes surprised me with these awesome shoes the other day. He has been wearing the Adidas Adizero Adios Boost for quite a while and loves them.  I came home the other day and found a pair waiting for me.

Friday Things1

I plan to give these a try on my long run on Saturday!

Tell me something random!

What are your favorite pair of shoes?
