I am officially in the beginning stages of marathon training but due to some mail delays I am postponing the real start of my training until next week.

I decided to use the Hanson’s Marathon Method for my fall marathon. I’ve heard great things and they keep the mileage in the range that I feel comfortable with right now. They also incorporate some pretty hard workouts which is also something I am going to need to take my time down.

I ordered the book off Amazon last week in hopes that it would be here this Monday, but it hasn’t come in yet. I was able to pull up the schedule online and for those just starting the first week is mostly easy running before the workouts begin the following week.

I plan to do a more detailed review coming up once I have had a chance to go through it all. I am really looking forward to trying something new and exciting!

I am going to use this week to help get me ready to really dive head first into the training. I will still run 6 out of 7 days and follow the Hanson’s plan for the first week, but it allows me to give my body a break from last week’s tough workouts and still get ready to start the new training.

This morning I woke up earlier in hopes to beat the heat and ran 6 easy miles.

6 miles

I don’t think I can really say that I “beat the heat” because it was pretty brutal.

Once Wes got home later in the evening we headed over to the local trail so that he could get his workout in. I knew he was tired so I figured having me bike with him for a little bit may help!

100 degrees

Yeah, it ended up being pretty hot. Even in the late afternoon. It was a good thing I was there with water!

I also want to thank you all for your awesome suggestions how to thicken up the sauce on my stir fry from a couple weeks ago. I decided tonight was a great night to try my stir fry again. After my last “failed” attempt I wanted to give it a go again.

This time I used your suggestions of adding corn starch and sesame oil to it and it turned out so much better!

Stir Fry

I love that stir fry is such an easy way to use up leftovers we have laying around. I officially cleared the last of it out of our refrigerator!
