3 years ago today it was a beautiful summer day. The sun was shining, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in my life.

Morning

I don’t remember every detail, but I do remember the amazing happiness I felt the moment my eyes opened that morning.

I arrived at the church at little after 3:00 pm. Hair and makeup was done, my dress was in hand and I was ready to marry the man of my dreams!

Card

I sat and read a beautiful card from my husband. Cards have always been our thing, so I wasn’t surprised when my matron of honor delivered it to me.

Bride Card

I slowly began to get dressed and ready to take the walk that would change my life forever.

Get Ready

A lot of people say they are nervous the day of their wedding, but all I can remember was feeling so unbelievably happy. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was marrying the only man for me.

Happy

The moment that it all hit me was when I was standing in this small room waiting to be taken out to walk down the aisle. All my wedding party had already left, my dad was lighting the candle with my mom and I was all alone in the back of the church. At that moment I knew that this was it. This was what I had been waiting for.

Walk Down the Aisle

I walked down the aisle to the my soon-to-be husband.

Wedding

The ceremony itself wasn’t long. About 15 minutes, but every minute was so special. I wanted nothing more than for this moment to last forever.

Happiness

I love this picture not because it’s the most flattering but because I think it captured the essence of that day. I wasn’t nervous, I wasn’t scared, but instead I was certain I was making the right decision.  There was laughter, there were tears, but most importantly there was a whole lot of love.

Mr. and Mrs.

Just like that when it was all said and done – we were Mr. and Mrs.!

Love

You plan for a year for one single day. I only remember two things really going wrong: my parents couldn’t get the unity candle lit at first and they forgot some decorative lights at the wedding reception. However, when that day came I didn’t care.

Dancing

All that mattered to me was us. What we felt in that moment was the most important. Of course, there was lots of silliness and fun too, but nothing could take away the sheer joy I felt.

Cake

So today, on our 3rd wedding anniversary, I am reminded once again just how perfect our day was. It hasn’t been all rainbows and sunshine that is for sure, but at the end of the day I always know that I am with the one man who truly completes me. Marriage is hard it isn’t always easy but if you are with the right person it is 100% worth it.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary sweetheart! You’ve stood by me through some crazy times, and I look forward to every crazy moment of the rest of our lives together. You inspire me, amaze me and continue to surprise me! I love you this day and forever!

When is your anniversary?

To those who are married, did anything go wrong on your day?
