What a week it has been. I am happy to report that yesterday I interviewed and got my 3rd part time job at a local restaurant. It’s nothing crazy but it will get us through these last several months. Sometimes we just have to make things happen.
I now officially have a part time job to work every day of the week. I know some days will be hard, but it’s what we need right now so I am looking forward to keeping busy and making some money! 🙂
I start this morning so no time to waste!
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you can celebrate it with those that you love. It’s a day to celebrate everyone that we love in life: parents, siblings, friends, children, and even our fur babies.
I was trying to think of a topic for this week’s Five Things Friday post and going along with the theme of the day I thought I would make it simply and sweet: Five Things I Love.
Most of these are probably going to be pretty obvious, but of all days this is the day to celebrate it!
1. My husband
I know I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I honestly don’t care. I met my husband as a freshmen in college (almost 9 years ago next month) and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
He has seen me at my best and my worst and still loves me, as I have him. That in itself is pretty amazing.
Our wedding was hands down the best day of my life. I stressed so much over the planning as I was living 10 hours away and trying to plan a wedding, but it was worth every single minute.
As our journey continues he still manages to surprise me and I learn more about him each and every day. I wouldn’t want to go through this life with anyone else.
2. My family
I love and miss my family like crazy.
They’ve supported me through all the craziness and have always been there when I needed them.
This was just a silly picture of some of my family from my wedding.
I have missed so many birthdays, holidays, and other special family events but they never made me feel guilty about it. They’ve come up and endured the winters of Erie to spend time with us.
I am very thankful for my family and all those special people in my life.
3. My fur children
We may not have children yet, but we have some of the best fur children I know.
We got our cat Gorman (named after a street we lived on in college) when we were 22. He was our first cat and is a total “daddy’s boy.” He is moody, thinks he owns the place, and follows Wes everywhere he goes.
We adopted Izzy 2 years later from a local animal shelter. She is so shy and scared of just about everything that moves, but I love her all the same. She isn’t really “all there” but she is the sweetest little girl you will ever meet.
Finally, we adopted Zoe the year we got married. We actually went and got her the day we got back from our honeymoon. I didn’t know anything about having a dog and it was such a learning experience but I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
These three little guys can make me smile when everything else in my day has gone wrong.
I saw this article on Facebook the other day. It made me smile and cry all at the same time.
4. Running/Working Out
What can I say about it? I love it. I love running and pretty much all forms of exercise.
I love the freedom of running. The escape of running. Along with everything that running has taught me about myself over the years.
I love challenging myself and learning about ways to improve my running performance and endurance. I love setting new goals no matter how big or how small they may seem.
It is amazing what our bodies can do and I love pushing myself to the next level.
This has been a work in progress for a long long time.
I have always struggled with self love and a distorted image of myself. It hasn’t been an easy process, but I am slowly making strides to take care of myself and LOVE myself.
I’ve said it before but you can’t truly love those around you the way you should if you don’t love yourself first.
We are all deserve not only the loves of others but the love of ourselves.
Remember to count the small things in life and never stop loving! Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic love it can be about loving all the people that are important to you in your life. Don’t stop at Valentine’s Day – life is so short so don’t forget to tell all those who you love how much they mean to you!
We don’t have an real plans today but are going to celebrate tomorrow night after I get off work with a Valentine’s Day/Match celebration dinner! I couldn’t be more excited!
What/who do you love?
Any plans for Valentine’s Day?
