Here we are at the end of another week! A long and crazy week at that, but a new PR for me on total milage.

Monday – Easy Recovery Run

Easy 7 miles averaging a 9:30 pace.

Tuesday – Progressive Tempo Run

0.5 mile warm up, 5 mile progressive tempo (8:27, 8:13, 8:00, 8:00, 7:53), 0.5 jog at 9:40 pace, 4 x 20 second sprints at 6:58, 40 second jog in between, 0.5 mile cool down. This totaled 7.08 miles.

Wednesday – Progressive Recovery Run

I started at a 9:40 pace and worked my way down to a 8:41 pace for a total of 6 miles. I came home later that day and ran another 2 easy miles at a 10:00 min pace for a total of 8 miles for the day.

Thursday – Speed Work

0.5 mile warm up, 5 x 1200 at a 7:41 pace, 0.5 mile jog in between each, 0.75 mile cool down for a total of 7 miles.  Due to the events of the day I also ran another 4.15 miles later in the day to clear my head at around a 9:30 pace.  I did a total of 11 miles.

Friday – Easy Run

Easy 5 miles run. I had some hip pain and averaged around 10:00 min mile.

Saturday – Long Run

13 miles in the morning averaging a 9:11 pace and then 3 more cool down miles averaging around a 10:44 pace. Total of 16 miles for the day.

Sunday – Easy Run

Ran a total of 10 miles at a 9:11 pace.  My goal for this run was to take it as slow as I needed to and I made a point not to look at my watch. I ran at a comfortable pace and if I began to breathe hard I took that as a sign to slow down.

Another beautiful scenic run.

I seriously could run on these roads every day all day.

Total Mileage – 64 miles

This weeks joys/successes:

1. PR on total mileage.  This is the most miles I have put in during a week in a LONG time.  I’d have to go back and look at my previous training but it certainly may be close to the most miles EVER for a week.

This is my happy face after my last run of the week. Seriously I should put more pictures on my blog where my hair is done and I have at least a LITTLE make up on.

2. Only one really bad run.  I only had one really tough bad run this week.  My legs seemed to recover very well all week and for the most part I was successful on my runs.

This week’s struggles:

1. Losing my job. I think most of you knew this would be number one. While I was able to use running to help me cope with this, it also made my mind unable to settle down on several of my runs. It was tough but something I am working through.

2.  IT Band/Hip pain. This started a couple days ago and while I had 2 days of pretty bad pain, today it seems to have gotten a bit better.  I am not quite sure if it is my IT band for sure or more my hip, but I am working diligently to stretch and foam roll both several times a day.

What a crazy week it has been! I am thankful to see this one go and am looking forward to a new week and hopefully some new opportunities.

Before I go I want to wish my husband a very HAPPY 27TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Wes Birthday

He has always been my biggest supporter, friend, inspiration, and best husband a girl could ask for.  The past couple months have been anything but easy and I am 100% convinced I could have not made it through without my best friend. I love you sweetheart! Happy Birthday!

What did your workouts look like this week? What is your proudest moment?
