Today’s Workout – Easy Run

This morning started out with a slow easy 5 mile run. I slept in a little bit till right around 9, got up, and then headed out to go ahead and get my run in so my legs would be completely recovered for tomorrow.
Around 2.5 miles in my right IT band starting hurting. I thought maybe it would work itself out but the longer I ran the more it kept hurting and getting worse.
I originally considered running 6 miles but ended up cutting it at 5 because tomorrow’s run is way more important.
I am a bit worried and hope this clears itself up with some good foam rolling and stretching today.
After yesterday’s announcement I wasn’t sure how this morning would go. Waking up and not having to go work a 10 hour day was something I didn’t know how to handle.
My day so far consisted of:
1. A Run – I needed this to clear my head some.
2. Job Hunting – I focus on applying to jobs for about 30 minutes at a time then take a break. If i go much longer than that I get burnt out.
3. Shower – Instead of sitting around in my sweaty clothes I chose to shower and get dressed which helped me feel more productive.
4. Enjoying time at home with the husband – Even though this situation sucks it does allow me to see my husband more and get things done I’ve never had the time to do.
I am trying to focus on the positive and keep going. There are moments where I want to break down and then there are moments where I feel motivated to make something of myself. I know I will come out on the other side.
Off to rest, foam roll, working on some job applications, and relax. Friday night never looked better!
