Happy Tuesday!

I was in a pretty bad slump last week and was struggling with my workouts, work, and even took a good amount of it out on my poor husband. This week is 100% different. I started the week prepared and with a positive look out on the week.  It hasn’t been completely perfect but I can tell a difference just by changing my outlook on things.

I found this quote last night on Pinterest and it really summed up how I feel.

Erin Andrews

This is now the new background on my phone to always remind me to keep my eyes on the prize. This applies to lifting, working out, work, and my marriage.  I need to be the best I can in all areas and focus on what is important.

I started the week off with food prep so I can bring yummy foods like this with my every day at lunch.

Lunch

Today’s lunch was comprised of tuna, broccoli (a large amount had been eaten prior to this picture) and 1/2 a sweet potato.

Work was long today and after standing in heels (should have worn flats) I was pretty tired when it came time to go to the gym.  I took a pre-workout and headed to the gym right after I left work.

Today’s workout comprised of some small cardio, core work, and a few arm workouts as well.

Post Workout

Post workout I took a protein shake sample I received from Ultimate Nutrition.  I always make sure to get my protein in within the first 30 minutes after my workout. The easiest way to make sure this happens for me is to pack it ahead of time and take it to the gym with me in my bag. As soon as I get back into the locker room I fill it up and chug.

I always thought I would hate protein shakes, but I have to say I really enjoy them now.  They are the easiest and most effective way for me to get my protein in during some of my busy days and the more and more I drink them the more I enjoy the taste.  The key is to try different flavors and find what YOU like.  There have been a few I haven’t liked, but after a little bit of trial and error I have found what works for me.
