My first blog post. This is exciting! You will have to bear with me while I learn the ins and outs of this blogging thing, but here goes nothing!

Yesterday I finally got myself to the gym. I got off an hour early from work so that helped increase my motivation levels a bit. It is amazing what one hour early can do!

My workout yesterday consisted of:
2 mile (10:00 minute pace) run on the treadmill
3 sets of 12 squats
3 sets of 10 pushups
3 sets of 30 second plank
3 sets of 12 lunges (each leg)
20 minute walk (4.5 mph) at a 15% incline. I also incorporated 30 seconds of running at a 15% incline ever 5 minutes or so.
3 sets of 12 tricep dips
3 sets of simple crunches
2 mile (10:00 minute pace) run on the treadmill

Total time was just around an hour and a half.  I met Wes downstairs afterwards and we went to the local grocery store to have some soup for dinner.

The craziest thing happened today at work. The previous day I had helped someone get a very important document they needed to go to court in a couple days. They had been going back in forth with someone without any luck, so I simply got on the phone got a little stern with some people and was able to make it happen.

Today this showed up for me.

Plant

Yes you see that right – they sent me a plant as a thank you. I have to say this is the oddest thing anyone has ever given me at work. I have gotten numerous thank you cards and food before, but never a plant.

I really didn’t know what to do with it once I lugged the huge thing into the house, so I just stuck in the corner and yelled at my cats and dog for the next couple hours to stop trying to eat it.

Plant 2

It doesn’t look that bad right? My poor husband did not marry someone with ANY interior design skills whatsoever. I learn everything I can from pinterest, but that can only go so far!

Tonight was not a successful with the gym. I had ever intention to go but once I left work I was exhausted. I did learn one thing today though, without a plan during this transition time to less running I am not going to succeed. I am going to be working on planning out my gym routine a week in advance at least until I learn more of what I am doing and what works for me. I will also try to post them on here to help keep myself accountable. I am in no ways perfect, but I am going to give it all I can.

Looking forward to a long weekend this weekend and some much needed down time with the husband.  One of the perks of the bank (and very few) are bank holidays!

I’m off to get some cleaning done. Thanks for reading the first post, they will get better I promise 🙂
