I realized it’s been quite a while since I have given you all a pregnancy update and since several have requested it, here we go!

In case you missed the last one you can find my weeks 14-18 update here.

There have definitely been a lot of changes body wise over the last 5 weeks and it still seems to be moving much quicker than it did with my first pregnancy, but doing my best to just embrace it!

Also, if you don’t follow me on Instagram we found out we will be having a second little boy! We are over the moon excited to meet this little one!

Weeks 19-24:

Symptoms: Thankfully for the most part nausea has gone away. I still feel tired most of the time (primarily due to chasing a toddler around every day) and sleep has been really hit or miss lately.

I am feeling a lot more pressure these days and feel like size wise I’m more around 30 weeks, so I’m a little scared to see how things are going to progress until this sweetbaby is born!

Food aversions: The only aversions I am having currently are to meat. However; it only applies to meats I have to cook myself. If someone else prepares it then I am fine but if I have to cook it then I feel sick the entire time I am trying to eat it.

I wish just not cooking for the rest of this pregnancy were an option! ha!

Food cravings:  I still call this baby my sugar baby because I feel like the only thing I really want to eat most days is sugar and carbs. I definitely don’t deprive myself but I try the best I can to keep things in moderation and find healthier options.

Sleep:  I go through a couple of days where I will sleep really well and a couple of days where I am tossing and turning all night. I have a pregnancy pillow which I used during my pregnancy with Easton as well but it just doesn’t seem to be helping.

Weight Gain:  I looked back at my last post and saw I said I had only gained 2-3 lbs! That’s changed a bit. At my last appointment (around 23 weeks) I was up around 11 lbs. I gained most of my weight with Easton in the 3rd trimester so hoping it’ll even out a little bit, but we will wait and see!

Look forward to:  We are beginning to plan out his nursery which is exciting! We ordered his crib and it’s ready to be put together once the nursery is painted. I’ve also washed all of our NB-6 month boy clothes and those are ready to be put in his dresser. I still have a long way to go but excited to have made some progress!

Running in Weeks 19-24

Week 19: 45.7 miles
Week 20: 29.65 miles (Christmas)
Week 21: 43.75 miles
Week 22: 31.37 miles
Week 23: 39.6 miles
Week 24: 37.15 miles

As you can see my mileage is kind of all over the place. I had a really good week and the highest mileage week of my pregnancy in week 19. After that I took some extra rest days around Christmas to hang out with my family. I had another good week in week 21 but then after that it’s been a bit rocky.

I’ll have great days and then days I feel like I can barely move my legs. I’ve been trying to stay consistent but some weeks are really just hard. I have added back in strength training 2x a week and I think it is going to help me in the long run even though right now it feels pretty hard.

I have a feeling my mileage is going to hover somewhere between 35-40 miles for the remainder of the pregnancy maybe even dipping below that as we get later in pregnancy. I am going to be adding in more cross training to help supplement some running to help aid my body in recovery.

The runs themselves can be hard but the biggest challenge I’ve found is that it just takes a lot longer for my body to recover these days. Long runs can sometimes completely destroy my body even though when I’m running them they feel great! I’ve already decided that it’s okay if I don’t run another double digit run this pregnancy, but I try to just take it a day at a time.

I think that about sums it for weeks 19-24! I will definitly be checking in again soon! Make sure to leave a comment and let me know what you’d like to see in future pregnancy posts!
