This post is sponsored by Farmers to Families. As usual, all opinions are my own.

Healthy food and eating has always been important to me. However; having a children changes everything. The healthy things you once were eating really don’t seem as “healthy” anymore.

You become to pay more attention to WHERE the foods you are eating come from. You look at what is in those foods, who grew/raised the food, and try to find the best of the best to make sure your child is eating the best they can.

Easton has changed the way I look at food in so many ways both towards myself and for him.

I was recently introduced to Farmers to Families.

My husband and I have always incorporated meat into our diet. If you are a vegetarian or vegan this might not apply to you quite as much, but you can still understand the sentiment behind understanding where your food really comes from.

The mission of Famers to Families is simple:

“Industry’s constant quest for faster cheaper food options has led to unfortunate consequences for our families and our communities. The American commercial meat industry is broken.  We can do better and we deserve better!  That is why we have dedicated ourselves to providing you the simplest solution of single steer & swine meats…healthy, safe, and honest meats from the family farms of the Shenandoah Valley delivered directly to your door. Pasture, Butcher, Table…it doesn’t get easier than that.”

Farmers to Families was founded by two veterans and their families who wanted to find a way to feed their families healthy meat.

“Our farms are family owned and our animals are naturally raised.  They may be smaller than the animals found in a feedlot and that’s a good thing.  They are continuously on pasture and enjoy the added benefits of supplemental grain during the 90 days leading up to processing.  We avoid hormones and antibiotics. Each animal is hand selected by our community of farmers and processed ONE at a time by our family owned and USDA inspected processor.”

So, here is how it works:

You choose the package you want and it is shipped right to your door.

Farmers to FamiliesI received the 1/16th beef and it included the following:

  • 3.5 Lbs of Premium Steaks (Ribeye, Porterhouse, or T-bone)
  • 3-4 Lbs of Steaks (Sirloin, Flank, or Round)
  • 6 Lbs of Roasts( Loin Tip, Brisket, Rump, Arm, or Chuck)
  • A mix of 10-12 Lbs of Ground, Spare Ribs, & Stew Meat

Farmers to Families Box

You know exactly what you are getting, where it is coming from, and how it has been raised. You don’t get much better than that! The meat will last you a LONG time, or at least it does our family!

Farmers to Families Beef

The meat comes frozen and ready to stick right in your freezer. You simply pull it out when you are ready to use it for a meal!

Chili

It was PERFECT when I got a craving fo chili the other night!

Farmers to Families is a wonderful company. It allows me to not only know where my meat is coming from but also support a small family owned business and farm.

I urge you to check out Farmers to Families for your next beef or pork purchase.
