Happy Friday! This week has felt so off to me because I wasn’t on my normal schedule. I was off Monday, a 2 hour delay on Tuesday and the finally got on my normal schedule starting Wednesday. I’ve been slammed with work too so I am so happy to see the weekend!

Another thing that has been off this week? Outdoor running. With the all the ice we’ve had I haven’t been willing to risk running outdoors. The last thing I need is to slip and fall and injure myself. There has been way too much treadmill running going on around here.

If I learned one thing while living in the snowiest state in the US for 4 years, it is how to run on a treadmill. I believe without a shadow of a doubt that it made me mentally tougher.

I’ve never been a big fan of watching movies or TV while running. I’ve done it a few times, but it has always been hard for me. The main reason is probably that when I run at home there isn’t really a good place to put my iPad to have a good view.

I’ve always relied on music a lot to get me through my treadmill runs. I will try to cater my music to the type of run I am doing. It helps me to either slow down or speed up depending on what I’ve got going on.

I thought today I’d share with you some of my favorite songs based on the type of run:

Easy Runs

I usually will try to get slower paced songs for easy runs. I’ve noticed that the quicker a song the more likely I am to speed it up.

Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran

Gonna Wanna Tonight – Chase Rice

Flora Bama – Kenny Chesney

This also makes me wish for warm, summer days.

Diamond Rings and Old Bar Stools – Tim McGraw

Take Your Time – Sam Hunt

I Lived – One Republic

Lonley Tonight – Blake Shelton ft. Ashley Monroe

I Did With You – Lady Antabellum

Steady/Tempo Runs

Now we are picking up the pace a little bit. I want quicker songs that will help keep me motivated.

Sugar – Maroon 5

Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars

Jealous – Nick Jonas

Speed Workouts

During speed workouts I prefer songs that are fast, but that have bursts in them.

Ayo – Chris Brown ft. Tyga (Explicit)

Overcomer – Mandisa

Really been loving this song lately, and the video is so inspirational!

Let’s Go – Trick Daddy ft. Lil John and Twista (Explicit)

This is my all time favorite pump up song. I used it in my marathon several times.

There you have it. Just a few of my favorites when stuck on a treadmill.  Sometimes you just have to find the little things that you get through even the toughest runs.

Whats your favorite song right now? Help me find new ones!

How has your running gone this week? Anyone else stuck on a treadmill?.
