Happy 2016!

Seriously, I feel like I was just writing a post similar to this for 2015. Where does the time go? 2016 I have a feeling is going to be a great year. I’ve got big goals, a pretty big birthday, and a whole lot of other exciting things coming up!

Goals1

In terms of New Years Eve, it was pretty quiet in our home. My husband has to work today so was in bed early, and I didn’t get off work until late finishing up things for year end.

Regardless of how quiet New Years Eve is, I am really excited for a new year! In honor of this time, I guess I should set some goals? I really didn’t start thinking about this in all honesty until I realized it was time for this post. However, it is always good to look back and evaluate where I want to go.

Of course, I have all the typical goals: get faster, run harder, run longer, do more strength work, clean up my diet etc…but I wanted to focus on a few different things running and non-running related.

Without further adieu, here are some of my goals for 2016:

Enjoy Every Moment of the Boston Marathon

I’m pretty excited for the Boston Marathon.  Not only do I have big goals for it,but it is my very first time running it. As my husband always says, “it’s one time you will never forget.”

Weekly Recap1

Even though I have a time goal my ultimate goal is really to enjoy every minute of it. I have my entry for 2017, but who knows how many years I will get to run it so I am going to be soaking up every single minute.

More Belief, Less Doubt

I’ve always been my own worst critic, we all are right? At least tell me it just isn’t me.

I really want to go into 2016 with more of a focus on believe in myself and what I can do, and not doubting. Sadly, sometimes I find myself doubting something before I even really try. I’m determined to make this year the year that I finally break out of that shell.

Slow Down

I’m always trying to fit in a million things at one time. I get up early, work all day, and then rush to get everything done at night. Sometimes I get into bed wondering what the heck happened!

I really want to focus on slowing down and enjoying the little things in 2016. I feel like the busier I get the more I miss some of life’s most enjoyable moments.

Help my Husband in His Training

We’ve always been a great team when it comes to running, but as my schedule has picked up I’ve gotten away from being able to really help him during his intensive training.

Weekly Recap2

I really want to find ways to be more involved, because his goals are getting huge which means there are so many tiny details that go into making that happen. He’s always someone who goes out of his way to help me when I need it, so it’s time to really focus on being there during more of his training as he needs it.

Plan for Our Future

It’s hard to believe my husband is already halfway through his residency. In just another year and half we will be packing up and moving out again. Where to? Well, we really don’t know.

The goal for 2016 will be to really focus in on the areas we want to be in long term. It seems like it has been so long since we have been able to think about actually settling somewhere long term. We have a few areas in mind, but since interviews will begin at the end of 2016 it’s time to really figure out where we want to settle and raise a family. Exciting stuff!

Embrace 30

I’ve been seeing the date loom closer each day since I turned 29. It really is almost impossible for me to believe that I will be 30 in April. While I know it is just a number, it has been a bit hard for me to swallow.

My goal is to relax and embrace 30. I’ve heard from so many people that their 30’s were such a great time in their lives! There are so many exciting things to come in this life and I want to be at peace and relaxed about starting this new decade of my life!

What do you want to see from me?

At the end of each year I like to re-evaluate the blog a bit and try to focus in on what you all, my readers, want for me.

Tell me, what would you like to see more of on the blog in 2016?
